        Heikki Repo is Lecturer of Medicine at the University of Helsinki and Consultant in Infectious Diseases at the Helsinki University Central Hospital. After graduating in Medicine from the Helsinki University, he trained in Internal Medicine and Infectious Diseases at Helsinki University. Thereafter he worked as Specialist of Infectious Diseases and since 2005 as Lecturer of Medicine.

        His main research interests are activation of innate and adaptive immune mechanisms in patients with systemic inflammation associated with sepsis, acute pancreatitis and inflammatory rheumatic disorders.  Currently he focuses on such of leukocyte signalling profiles to predict vital organ dysfunction in sepsis and pancreatitis and treatment response in rheumatoid arthritis.
