Dr. Van Bambeke received her Pharm.D. in 1991 from the Université catholique de Louvain, Belgium and her Doctor in Pharmaceutical Sciences (PhD) from the Université catholique de Louvain, Belgium in 1995. She is currently a Senior Research Associate, the Fonds National belge de la Recherche Scientifique Professor at the Université catholique de Louvain.
Her main research interests include: Cellular pharmacokinetics, pharmacodynamics and toxicodynamics of antibiotics , Antibiotic efflux pumps, and Pharmacological evaluation of new antibiotics in in vitro models (cultured cells). She has co-authored 85 peer-reviewed papers and 16 reviews (http://www.facm.ucl.ac.be/publicat_facm.htm).
Dr. Van Bambeke is also a member of numerous scientific societies, including: Société belge de Biologie Cellulaire (since 1994), Société belge des Sciences Pharmaceutiques (since 1995), Société belge d'Infectiologie et de Microbiologie Clinique (since 1997), International Society for Anti-infective Pharmacology (since 1997), American Society for Microbiology (since 1999) and the European Society of Clinical microbiology and Infectious Diseases (since 2008). |
