            David R. Shlim, M.D. was the Medical Director of the CIWEC Clinic Travel Medicine Center in Kathmandu, Nepal for fifteen years, from 1983 to 1998.  During that time, he authored over 35 peer-reviewed papers on infectious disease and travel medicine topics.  The CIWEC Clinic was the first and is still the busiest destination travel medicine clinic in the world.  During his time in Nepal, the clinic treated over 20,000 cases of traveler’s diarrhea.  He serves on the editorials boards of the Journal of Travel Medicine, Wilderness and Environmental Medicine, and High Altitude Medicine and Biology.   He currently practices travel medicine in Jackson Hole, Wyoming and maintains a position as Research Director of the CIWEC Clinic Travel Medicine Center.
