Education:  Swarthmore College, BA, 1964; University of Pennsylvania School of Medicine, MD, 1968; Resident in Internal Medicine, Temple University Hospital, 1968-1971; Fellow in Infectious Diseases, Temple University Hospital, 1971-1973. 

Current Appointments:  Thomas M. Durant Professor of Medicine, Professor of Microbiology and Immunology, and Chief, Section of Infectious Diseases, Temple University School of Medicine and Hospital; Consultant in Infectious Diseases, Fox Chase Cancer Center, Philadelphia, PA. 

Research Interests:  Listeriosis; Anaerobic infections; Relationships between chronic illness and infectious diseases; Impact of societal change on patterns of infectious diseases.
