Venkata G. Meka went to medical school at the Boston University School of Medicine and then completed a medical residency at Henry Ford Hospital in Detroit, Michigan. He also served as Chief Medical Resident for a year and then completed a fellowship in Infectious Diseases at Beth Israel Deaconess Medical Center in Boston, Massachusetts. Research during fellowship involved linezolid resistance among Staphylococcus aureus and community-associated methicillin-resistant S. aureus. His interests include antibiotic resistance and tropical medicine.
