Dr Nikolaos V. Sipsas received his medical degree from the National and Kapodistrian University of Athens in Greece. He did his post-doctoral thesis, in History of Medicine at the Medical School of the Zurich University in Switzerland. Then he was trained in Internal Medicine at the Athens Naval Hospital and the Athens Laikon Hospital. He was subsequently trained as a research fellow in Infectious Diseases at Massachusetts General Hospital in Boston. He is currently attending physician at the Department of Medicine and the Infectious Disease Unit at the Laikon General Hospital, in Athens, Greece and Lecturer at the Athens University Medical School. He is a reviewer in peer-reviewed Journals in Infectious Diseases and Internal Medicine and he has authored more than 30 peer-reviewed manuscripts.
