        CDR Cindy Dougherty received her BA in Biology from Berea College, Berea, KY, and her Doctor of Pharmacy degree from Mercer University, Atlanta, GA.  Upon graduation from pharmacy school, she joined the United States Public Health Service (USPHS) and worked with the Indian Health Service for 4 years as a clinical pharmacist before transferring to the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC).  Dr. Dougherty is currently Chief of the CDC Drug Service.  In addition to her responsibility for the management of the Drug Service, she is the Project Officer for 2 multi-million dollar contracts, one for the new smallpox vaccine (ACAM2000) and the other for the new Vaccinia Immune Globulin (VIG).
